First of all I'd like to thank you for two things.  1: Joining Expansion Chat, and 2: Actually taking time to read the rules =P


Expansion chat is a place for any expansion fan to come and chat in a hate free environment, and to achieve that we must have rules.

A. The Warning System

C. The Fun Stuff



A. The Warning System - Failure to follow any of the rules of Deviantart or the chat itself will result in the following.

1. You will first recieve a warning to stop whatever rule you are breaking.  This will be done by moderators only.  Chatgoers may suggest to stop, but this does notcount as a warning.

2. Failure to heed the warning by ignoring it will recieve you a Mute.  Failure to heed the warning by retaliation or challenging a moderator will grant you a Mute, and depending upon the severity, a Ban.  Each of these situations is subject to change depending upon the severity of the situation, and that will be judged by the moderators.

3. If you are Muted, you may remain in the chat, but not be able to post.  This will be for a minimum of 10 minutes.  After being Muted, if you wish to regain your ability to post, you will send a note to a moderator and after the time limit, you will be un-muted.  A second Mute in the same day lasts the rest of the day, same rules apply to regain posting ability.  Repeat offenders eventually be banned.

4. If you are banned, you will no longer be allowed acess to the chat.  Some bans maybe be revoked in the same process as a Mute, but all Bans will last at least two days.


B. The Basics -

1. Chatgoers must first and foremost abide by the daMN rules, set into place by Deviantart.  I will not list it all, but here is a link to the section in the help desk:  http://help.deviantart.com/287/  Any violation of these rules, and the ones of the chat, will get you Muted or Banned.

2. No name calling, hating, teasing, or just being an ass in general.  This will earn you a Mute or in some cases a Ban.

3. No RP-ing in the room, period.  There are other chats and instant message systems for that, chatgoers do not like to try and talk during the middle of an RP.  Failure to follow this rule will earn a Mute or Ban.

4.  No bashing or discriminating against one's preference of expansion. Doing so will earn a Mute or a Ban.

5. Respect the boundaries of others.  If someone tells you to stop what you are doing, you will stop.  Failure to do so will earn you a Mute or Ban.

6. No spamming.  This includes, but is not limited to: Emoticons, avatars, links, obsceneties, thumbnails of deviations, etc.  Failure to follow this rule will most definitely earn a Mute of Ban.


C. The Fun Stuff -

1.  Membership!  We have various types, depending upon your expansion preference.  Don't be afraid to ask for a membership, we encourage it!

2. Featured Deviations!  We like to feature your work, and we are always willing to do so.  Simply talk to a moderator, and we will feature you at the top banner of the chat!  This changes weekly.

3. Featured Artists!  We also like to feature new and up-coming artists. The same rules apply here, talk to a moderator to get featured!  This timespan will vary, but be at least one week long.

4. Better Chatting!  We'd love to hear what you think would make chatting more fun!  Send a note to a moderator to suggest something.
